I’m Baaaaaaaack!
Welcome to Week 10! Are ya feelin’ lucky?
I’ve been seeing these cute St. Patrick’s Days crafts all over Pinterest lately. These two in particular caught my eye.
I was whining to myself, “I wish I had a little girl to make some cute hairbows for.” Then I thought, “Well why should little girls have all the fun?” So I decided to make some St. Patrick’s Day hairbows for my big girl and her suitmates!
I stopped by Michael’s on my way home from work Thursday and found some adorable ribbons. I also picked up some big gems (from the scrapbook section) and some green buttons. (btw – I went to Hobby Lobby last night for supplies for the vacation album I’m working on {seriously you should see my kitchen – it looks like a bomb went off} and they have WAY cuter ribbons and buttons.)
I decided to use the same ribbon flower method as I did for my flower headbands, only I made them a little smaller using a 15” length of ribbon then folding it into 5-3” sections.
I decided that I wanted to attach the hairbows to bobby-pins, so I hot-glued a green felt circle on the back just like I did for the headband. To keep the bobby-pin in place I stitched it on either side of the felt circle.
I made several different styles – some with gems and one with a button. And I think they turned out super cute!!
I’m going to put them in the mail this week so the girls can wear them on St. Paddy’s Day.
Wouldn’t want my girls to get pinched by any fresh frat boys.
(My delightful daughter just read this and is rolling her eyes, going “Seriously Mother? Did you have to go there?”)
Anyway, whether you have a little girl or a big girl in your life, make them some hairbows. My big girls may think it’s for them, but actually I’m the lucky one.
Peace, Kelly
