It was a rare Sunday for me…
- my laundry was mostly caught up
- my house was clean enough
- I didn’t have to go to the grocery store
Seriously, I can’t remember the last time all three of these coincided on a beautiful Sunday afternoon – I was giddy!
Anyway, Kelsey was busy writing a paper for school and Tripp was “busy” watching football so I decided to take Daisy on a leisurely walk to enjoy the spectacular autumn day. Quite often when I am running, I’ll catch a glimpse of a pretty view or setting and think to myself, “I should take a picture of that.” So that’s what Daisy Duke and I did today – we walked one of my favorite running routes and took pictures.
I love this bike path. In the worst heat of the summer it’s usually 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the neighborhood thanks to its shade trees and proximity to the river.
The scent of this beautiful Autumn Clematis stopped me in my tracks. It’s sweet perfume is like honeysuckle. Really, it should be called Autumn Honeysuckle.
I never get tired of our beautiful skyline.
One of the few pictures of Daisy. Seriously, she hates it when I try to take her picture. If she even sees me with the camera out she tucks her tail between her legs and runs for the hills. Kinda like my kid does now. hmmmmm….
Beautiful views like this make running much less tedious for me…
…especially when what I’d rather be doing is sitting here and reading a book. Doesn’t this look like the most peaceful spot?
I have to say, it felt so strange not folding a load of clothes or picking something up around the house. I could get used to this! Even Tripp thought this wonderful day was reason enough to celebrate and made our first fire of the season in the outdoor fireplace.
I could get used to this too. I love this view from the kitchen. Even when I’m cooking dinner I can still enjoy our outdoor fireplace.
And finally, the perfect ending to a perfect day. I think red wine and fireplaces were made for each other. And me.
Peace,
Kelly
