Kelsey calls it nesting and Tripp calls it crapbooking. I don’t care what they say – I love it.
I love scrapbooking for lots of reasons:
- I love looking at pictures of people I love
- I love making things (I’m a crafter at heart)
- I love colorful paper and do-dads
For me, scrapbooking is the perfect combination of nostalgic reminiscing and tactile hobby! I used to be so good about keeping scrapbooks up to date, but it seems that the past several years have gotten away from. I have a HUGE box of photos that I was just sure I’d get around to scrappin, but I can see now that it’s just not going to happen. Not in chronological order anyway. So I decided to pull out all the photos I could find with just the three of us in the picture (which was harder than I expected) and make a mini-album. Mini-albums are my new best friend – i get my scrappin’ fix in one neat, tidy little book without the constant reminder of all the unscrapped photos elsewhere.
To tie together this random assortment of family snapshots, Tripp, Kelsey and I brainstormed a list of 10 words that we thought best described our family. I found one of the those cool chipboard word albums, and other than some family quote stickers, I used only the vast stash of supplies I already had in my cabinet.
Did you hear that dear? I didn’t spend any money on this project (ok very little).
I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane, because I loved every minute of it.
