Around here, I am having so much fun with my new Letter Folk sign – a Mother’s Day gift from my sweet girl. All the cool kids have them which now puts on the pressure to try to be cool and think of clever things to say. Seriously…you should check out the #letterfolk tag on Instagram…people are so dang funny! #letterfolkgoals
Around here, all is well after last night’s severe storms roared through the area. No tornadoes (thankfully!) but 70 mph winds were enough to take down one of our trees in the backyard. Grateful that it didn’t damage any structures or other nearby trees.
Around here, I could have told you that it was going to storm because this weekend we have three outdoor festivals going on…pretty much a guarantee of bad storms.
Around here, we are transitioning from spring to summer as evidenced by all the severe storms we’ve been having. It’s also evident in the garden where daylilies and daisies are coming into full bloom.
Around here, I am back with my friends in a relaunch of Tracey Clark’s Picture Spring. It so fun to play along with my friends, and it reminds me of the very first ‘Picture’ class I took almost six years ago. That was the beginning of my journey with photography and it’s interesting to see how much my photography has evolved over the years.
Around here, I am enjoying a sense of clarity and focus that I haven’t felt for a while. I think it’s a combination of a commitment to physical wellness as well as giving myself the quiet and whitespace that I know I need. ‘Self-care’ is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days…truth be told I have a hard time with the sort of touchy-feeling sense of the term. For me, self-care isn’t about making myself feel good in the moment…it’s more about doing the things I know that lead to overall wellness – body, mind, and spirit. To me, self-care means less sugar and more vegetables. It means less screen time and more hands on time in the garden. It means less worry and more prayer. They payoff, though, is feeling vibrant and alive. And around here, that makes me a very happy, grateful girl.
Happy Friday friends!
Love, Kelly
