this past friday i drove up to see my parents. i hadn’t seen them since christmas so it was nice to have some time to visit and just hang out after all the excitement of the holidays.
friday was such a beautiful {albeit cold} day. and that evening as the sun set, the sky turned an amazing color of coral.
they live out near the lake and you can just see for miles. for me it’s such a treat because, living in the city, i’m not able to see the horizon and the setting sun.
my mom and i were standing there just soaking up all the glory. really…a lovely moment.
standing there i said a little prayer of thanks for the wonderful day spent with my mom and dad. for the gorgeous january skies. for the coldest, darkest months of the year, because we have this gift of color and glory.
i suppose like most things, it’s all in the way you look at it…so i choose gratitude. i choose joy.
peace, kelly

Well, it looks like you had a lovely visit! Beautiful photos to capture it. I know what you mean about sunset in town … almost a futile effort. Your parents are lucky. I often drive past homes where I can tell that they have a sunset view and wonder what it must be like.
