The week in photos.

In this season my cosmos are enjoying these warm days while my dahlias are starting to wind down.

In this season the days are getting noticeable shorter and our evening strolls with Daisy happen earlier and earlier.

In this season sunflowers from @traderjoes are making a regular appearance on my kitchen table.

In this season we have been tackling little projects around the house and yard. A HUGE shout-out to my dear husband for his patience while getting out all of the screws I stripped when I hung the shades in the kitchen years ago.

In this season it is joy to witness my friend Jen’s children growing up into the most awesome kids. Also, a cookie delivery from the cutest neighbors is always a welcome sight.

In this season it is a bittersweet feeling to see the little signs of Autumn starting to show around the neighborhood. Even though I’m ready for cooler weather, it’s still a little sad to say goodbye to summer.

Over the weekend I finished up my June spreads in

Over the weekend I finished up my June spreads in my Project Life album. I used a combination of the June Stories by the Month™ Kit and the Frames Scrapbook Kit from @aliedwardsdesigninc .

This completes my album for the first half of the year and it feels AMAZING to have all these photos and words tucked into these pockets. A tangible connection to my people and my memories.

The week in photos. Late-summer gifts.

The heady scent of the Autumn Clematis that scrambles along my neighbor’s fence.

The squeaky sound of hummingbirds zooming around the yard.

The sweet, tart taste of a Honeycrisp apple.

The sight of bright, bold magenta cosmos in my kitchen window.

The cozy feel of a soft blanket on an unseasonably cool September morning.

Using my five senses is one of my favorite ways to stay connected and grounded. It’s gets me out of my head and into the present moment which has been a welcome gift during a stressful week.

I hope you have been able to enjoy some of the little gifts of this season.
