i’ve been doing a little digital housecleaning this morning. tidying up my lightroom catalog. organizing stray photos into their proper folders.
just like regular housecleaning…it’s not my favorite thing to do. but it did give me the opportunity to look through my 2014 photos a bit.
it’s always a fun thing to do i think…seeing the year as a whole. when you’re in the midst of taking a photograph everyday, there are some days that don’t feel all that inspired. there are some days where i totally just phoned it in. and you know what….that’s totally ok.
because it’s a year-long project. i sometimes forget that. and when i see the year like this….with my less than stellar photos in context…it tells the story. the real story of my real, messy, imperfect life.
i just love that.
anyway, i thought i might share with you some of the photos that stood out to me this morning. some of my favorites from this past year.
Kelly! Truly spectacular. How did you get so close to that mama dove feeding her babies?
thank you so much kelly! you know…i just very slowly moved in as close as i could without getting her too upset. and i think mourning doves are somewhat known for being the most approachable in the nest. it was truly magical getting such an up-close view of the momma and her babies.
