Mother Nature played a good April Fools Day joke on us. What started out as yet another cold, gray, drizzly, dreary morning is turning out to be a spectacularly glorious Spring day.
Can I get a WooHoo!!
Spring has definitely sprung in my garden and I am one happy girl. Here are some of my favorite things about Spring.
Redbud Trees– Our state tree and my personal favorite.
Creeping Phlox – I just love the way these enthusiastic flowers cover the mounds of deep green foliage.
Dogwood Trees – I love their horizontal growth habit and their unusual flowers. This is the first year this tree has bloomed in my garden which makes me so happy.
Grape Hyacinths – These are maybe one of my all time favorite flowers. Generally speaking, I love all blue-ish/purple-y, spikey flowers, but this color is divine.
Tulips – Honestly, is their another other flower that screams April more than a tulip? Tulips are the epitome of understated elegance. Less is more.
Their sculptural shape is so fluid and graceful.
I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy this lovely Spring day. I think I am going to blow off the inch and a half of drywall dust in my house and do just that.
Peace, Kelly
