around here,Ā it feels like summer. Ā the air is thick, the sun hangs golden in the evening sky. the long shadows, the magical lightā¦i wish i could hang on to it forever.
around here, i lost (as in not ever to be found again) my first lens cap. Ā i think that officially means that i am now a real photographer.
around here, i am getting bombarded with spam email. Ā somehow my website email must have made its way onto some list and now i probably get 100 spam emails a day. Ā which TOTALLY SUCKS. Ā iāve got some dude named mike ward whoās warning me about world war 3 and another group called end days survival blowing the whistle on the government. but on the brightside, iāve got lots of information on how to be a coffee shop millionaire and how to restore hair loss. Ā <=====Ā {insert sarcasm here}
around here, when iām not cleaning out my inbox, i am enjoying time with friends and family. Ā an impromptu dinner with my parents on wednesday. Ā and a lovely evening with my friend jenĀ last nightā¦tasting wine and checking out all the pretty flowers at a local garden center. Ā wine and gardeningā¦.a match made in heaven.
around here, iām recovering from a bit of an empty-nest flare up this week. Ā itās the first summer that my girlĀ wonāt be coming home for any length of time. Ā and seeing all my instagram friends sharing pictures of summer vacation with their kiddos makes me a bit wistful for those days when kelseyĀ was little. Ā her sun-kissed nose and tiny freckles. watching herĀ play in the front yard with all the neighborhood kids til dark. the way she smelled like grass and sunscreen. Ā the feeling of freedom and the brief reprieve from spelling words and flash cards.
around here, i am looking forward to seeing my girl tonight. Ā soon sheāll be moving into a new place with a new roommate. Ā and whatever brief melancholy i might have felt, is only a shadowĀ compared to the immenseĀ joy and gratitude for the way things are working out for kelsey. Ā sheās loving her new job and so excited about this next chapter of her life.
around here, i am putting into practice my belief that summer magic is what you make it to be.
