I have a new appreciation for Friday mornings. It’s such a beautiful, albeit cold, morning and I am so thankful to be home in my warm house. I know it was just a couple of weeks ago that I was lamenting about how quiet the house is when I’m here alone, but I finally got a grip on my empty-nest meltdown. Funny how when I’m at peace on the inside, everything else feels peaceful on the outside.
If you regularly visit my blog, you might have noticed that I have a new page entitled “picture fall.” I am taking an online photography workshop at Big Picture Classes called Picture Fall. The course encourages participants to see their world through the camera lens and to cultivate an awareness and appreciation for the simple beauty of the ordinary, familiar scenes in their lives.
Um hello….a concept that is right. up. my. alley.
Anyway, every morning I get an email prompt and some suggestions for how I might see my world a bit differently. Today’s prompt was “morning light” and immediately I thought of the bathroom window we discovered during our bathroom renovation and how much I adore the light that it lets into to our previously-dark and dreary bathroom.
In this workshop I am not just learning about how to take photos – I am celebrating this life that I am so very thankful for. A perfect way to enter into the season of Thanksgiving.
Peace, Kelly
