Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Over the years I have searched the Internet for countless numbers of recipes.  All kinds of recipes – desserts, main dishes, appetizers – you name it.  And in all these years, I’ve never once submitted a recipe to a website or posted my own.  That is until now.

I’ve been feeling the need to contribute to society so today I decided to share my super secret, perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe.  It’s basically the Tollhouse recipe, but I’ve made a few modifications that, in my opinion, elevate the humble cookie to a new level of deliciousness.

Kelly’s Super Secret Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Like I said, I start with the Tollhouse recipe and make these modifications:

  1. I only use butter
  2. I use 1 cup of brown sugar and ½ cup of granulated sugar
  3. I increase the flour amount by 2 tbsp
  4. I add ½ tsp of baking powder

I consider myself to be somewhat of a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur and to me, these changes create a richer, denser cookie.  Now if I was going to make an entire batch of cookies for myself I would add ½ cup of pecans and ½ cup of dried cranberries because I like the contrast and texture.  But then I’d probably never bake them and just eat all the cookie dough. Which is a story for another day I guess.

At any rate, when I bake these cookies at 350 degrees on the convection setting (375 degrees regular), this is how they turn out.

mmmmm…..hello beautiful…..

So there you have it.  I hope you enjoy it.  Consider it a little gift from me.  Just trying to make the world a better place one chocolate chip cookie at time.

Peace, Kelly
