this adorable kittenĀ belongs to our sweet girl, kelsey.
kelsey rescued miss poppy from a litter of abandoned kittens and has had her now for a couple of weeks. Ā bottle feeding, flea baths, and lots of extra love and nurturing was required in the beginning, but now poppy is a happy, healthy, playful little kitten.
poppy is what is known as a ātortieā (short for tortoise shell) because of her distinctive coloring. Ā similar to a calico cat, torties are nearly always females. Ā torties are also known for their spunky personalities ā their ātortitudeā ā and are known for being independent, strong-willed, and very talkative.
Ā
yesterday tripp and i stopped to visit kelsey on ourĀ way home from the football game. Ā for the past two weeks, i had only seen pictures of poppy so it was so fun to finally get to meet my grandkittenĀ for myself.
all iām going toĀ say is Lord help me when i have grandchildren.
my favorite thing though is to see how much poppyĀ loves kelsey. Ā love knowing that kelsey will always have a loyal friend.

She’s lovely! As grandparents, we are called “Nona and Poppy.” So the name Poppy is one that fills my heart. They look so sweet together. Happy day to you.

glad i could share the cuteness and bring a smile to your heart today my friend. š happy day to you too. š
Poppy is so adorable and I just love her name. I had a tortie named Abigail and she was so sweet. Thank you for rescuing her and her siblings!! I hope you enjoy many, many years with her. : )

thank you so much wendy! we are having so much fun getting to know her and her adorable personality! š
i LOVE it!!! she is adorable… and like my daughter says… “kittens are just so cute!!!’
she really is the cutest thing! š
Ariel was our tortoise shell and Alexis was our tri-colour (more black with sprinkles/dashes of orange & white. Ariel would ‘disappear’ from view if she napped or sat on piles of brown coconut palm fronds and other dried leaves. Then she would blink her green eyes and you could ‘see’ her. They both had such gorgeous colouring (Nassau, NP, Bahamas).
hi gina! thank you so much for stopping in to say hi! i am certainly getting quite fond of the newest member of family and am having fun with her adorable ‘tortie’ personality. š
