My Handy Dandy Notebook

Please allow me to introduce to you a very special friend of mine.

Raise your hand if your child used to watch Blue’s Clues. Smile

{{raising my hand}}

Now just to be clear…this is not my day-timer/planner thing.  I have one of those too.  Except I use that more for my running to-do list and to keep track of important stuff like birthdays and appointments.  Like my mammogram appointment tomorrow.

{{i swear is there no end to the mortification that a middle-aged woman has to go through??}}

Anyway, this little cutie is actually the third notebook I’ve started.  shallow dof 1web

I started keeping a notebook about the time I started my blog and it is sort of a cross between a journal and a sketch pad.  And I use it as a place to keep keep my thoughts.  And I’ll write down ideas or inspiration that might come to me on any given day.

So for instance here is a sketch of an idea I had to redo my blog header with a collage.

And here is a sketch of a scrapbook page idea I doodled one day during lunch.

I also like write down inspiration quotes that speak to me.  Doesn’t everyone??

Wait don’t answer that. Winking smile

Oh look!  Here are some notes on a riveting (!!) blog post that I plan to share next week which was actually inspired by this post.

Please try to contain your excitement!!

Winking smile

Anyway, I’ve found that keeping a notebook is quite beneficial to my sanity and peace of mind.  It seems like if I’m thinking about something or get an idea, if I write it/sketch it down, then it’s like one less ball in the air to juggle. Frees up valuable head space. And for me that’s good thing, because it’s like a circus of cats up there most days.

Hey…that might make a good blog post someday.  I should go write that down. Smile

    Love your notebook! I have more than one notebook, too! I love notebooks! I have to stay away from the school supply aisle or I’ll bring another one home, especially if I’m in Target!

    Great minds! I was going to shoot my new notebook today for the blog. Notebooks. Oh, don’t even go there. The last one came via esty and I was trying to sneak it into the house to open it (because I already have so many). And pens. And all manner of stationary supplies. I should have stayed in schooll forever, just for all the fun stuff. Do you like the smell of crayons in the box? Just asking.
    Happy Friday, my friend,
    Pam

    I’m with you on the addiction to journals and notebooks and blank books and just pretty paper. 🙂 Your header collage is awesome. I’ve been thinking of doing a new header also. I like your blogroll too and am honored to be listed there. (Will you delete that comment from me though to my friend Eydie? How on earth did I manage to do that???)
