when my irises bloom

irises are easily one of my top five favorite flowers of all time. if not my very favorite.

IMG_2187_blog

of course that is until my peonies start to bloom.  i don’t know…it’s sort of a toss up.

at any rate, i look forward to my irises blooming all year.

IMG_1968_blog

and when they do, it makes my heart so happy.

IMG_2220_blog

when my irises bloom i can’t wait to go outside every morning and admire their beauty.

IMG_2223_blog

when my irises bloom i love to stick my nose right into the center of the petals and inhale their sweetly delicate fragrance.

IMG_2047_blog

when my irises bloom i am always amazed at their beautiful, ruffled form.

IMG_2325_blog

when my irises bloom, i usually take alot of pictures.

IMG_2330_blog

{sidenote:  i wrote in a previous blog post about how i took approximately 6,000 pictures of a butterfly.  well, i received a lot of comments remarking at that number.  and in case you were curious, i didn’t really take 6,000 pictures.  i mean i could have, but i didn’t.  but the fact that you all didn’t think that 6,000 pictures was a completely ludicrous number of pictures to take, makes me love you all the more.}

when my irises bloom, i am reminded of the stunning beauty of nature.  the diversity of color and shape.  the joy that gardening brings into my life.

IMG_2336_blog

thank you so very much for letting me share it with you.

I love Dutch Iris and only wish they last longer, such beauty really should in my opinion so much like the night blooming cactus here. They are wonders in the garden so lovely and you have captured them just wonderfully and with gorgeous light and texture.

Your photos always amaze me, especially the lighting and colours. I never loved an iris as much as I do today!

I am in TOTAL agreement with you regarding iris. I had to smile when you were talking about sticking your nose in and inhaling their sweet scent, and then had a close up of the flower. Gorgeous shots!

We don’t have any irises in our garden but seeing yours kind of makes me want to see if we can find some room. Beautiful, Kelly!

I am guessing it was not 6000 but maybe like 74 or so. I hope your dear pet is healing well. Thinking of you from Seabright.

Such pretty shots of your Iris. I’ve started growing a few in my flower beds as well. They are just budding up and should be blooming soon. That last show with the quote is really lovely. Hope all is well with your Dog, Riley.

Wonderful photos. And, with the digital age, you could take 6000 photos if you wanted to do so. A few years back, with film, you rarely took more than a roll of film at one time . . . so maybe as many as 36.
