it was an unusual week for me.
not only was my husband out of town all week, but it was a very quiet week at work as well. between getting home in the mid-afternoon and not having my usual evening dinner prep responsibility, i found myself enjoying a luxurious amount of free time.
wednesday evening, i decided to go visit the monarchs, so i walked down the street to the run-down house with all the overgrown cosmos.
for 30 or 45 minutes i crept around and followed this one butterfly. at one point, it lingered over a single cosmos bloom for a few minutes. i was crouched on the ground watching through it through my viewfinder. it was so quiet and so peaceful. i could feel my breathing slowing down in sync with the gentle opening and closing of the monarch’s wings.
not one time did i think, ‘i should get home to {{fill in the blank}}’. not one time did i worry about where i needed to be or what i needed to do…
….this was where i needed to be and this is what i needed to to do.
there are times where life feels heavy…when you feel like you have cinder blocks strapped to your feed and are barely plodding your way through. but there are also times likes these when your heart feels so light it could fly.
so very thankful for the gift of a light heart this week…wishing you beauty and lightness in your heart as well.
happy friday friends!
love, kelly

Such lovely photos of the monarchs! Oh my, I can see why you would want to just take a million. Ah, to have a few moments for a light heart. Perhaps next week.
so hoping some light moments found their way to you. xoxo
