Spring Deco-Mesh Wreath

Well so the craft junkie was once again unleashed last week…I totally blame my husband for being out of town for eight days.  While he was gone, with lots of time on my hands (never a good thing for me), I decided that the front door needed a touch of green.  So I went to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies to make a deco-mesh wreath (now that I actually know how to make them).

The only problem with Hobby Lobby (and I swear I’m not hatin’…we all know how much I {heart} me some HobLob) is that they have a terrible selection of deco-mesh. In my humble opinion.  You see, what I wanted was a pretty spring green, but all they had was way too bright and neon-y.  So what to do…

When I got home I did a little Google search and found a couple of places that sell deco-mesh, but then!  OMG friends!  I discovered the most wonderful thing of all!!  GUESS who sells deco-mesh wreath supplies???

AMAZON.COM!!!

Holy hell!!  Like I didn’t already love amazon enough!  Me and AMAZON are tight!  Best buds.  BFFs!

So I ordered this beautiful green mesh!!  Plus they also had a wreath form just for making deco mesh wreaths!  I know I’ve gone a little crazy with the exclamation points but do you realize how awesome this is!!!???

OK.  I’ll settle down now.

Anyway, here’s the wreath form.  To me it looks like a Christmas wreath whose hair has been pulled through a cap for highlights.  Or something like that.

And here’s the pretty green mesh I got.

So to put it together, it’s basically the same as my Christmas wreath.  Just twist 12 inch section of mesh onto the form going around the outside.

Then do the same thing around the inside.  It’ll look something like this when you’re done.

Next I added this cool burlap ribbon just weaving it in and around, twisting it in the same places as the mesh.

The last step was to add embellishments which for that I used one bunch of these sweet pink little flowers and I also bought these cool twisty stem thingies.

And then basically I just tucked them in and around twisting them onto the wreath.  I love how it turned out!

The perfect way to invite Spring dontcha think! Smile

Love, Kelly

So, you do know that someone has a birthday coming up, and that someone just loves these wreaths you make, and that someone now has a place to hang a wreath, and that someone doesn’t know how to do mesh wreaths, so, so, so………….:)
