This Time Last Year

This time last year Kelsey and her bridesmaids were in the bridal suite getting ready for the big day.

This time last year our photographer was capturing little details while everyone was getting dressed.

This time last year Alex and his mom shared a sweet moment together.

This time last year Tripp and I watched our girl become the most beautiful bride.

This time last year Kelsey and Alex shared their first look.

This time last year it was so awesome to see all of the months of pinterest-ing, planning and preparations come together in the wedding venue and have my girl’s vision come to life.

This time last year it was equal parts exciting and nerve-racking as the wedding ceremony began.

This time last year Kelsey and Alex were officially married and became husband and wife.

This time last year our two families were joined together as we gained a son-in-law and Alex’s mom, Julie, gained a daughter-in-law.

This time last year Alex and Kelsey shared their first dance. Also around this time, a severe thunderstorm ripped through the area causing widespread power outages and wind damage. Thankfully our venue had a backup generator so the party continued without a hitch.

This time last year I thought my heart might burst with gratitude seeing my daughter so happy.

This time last year I was so grateful for all of the family and friends who gathered with us to celebrate these two cherished human beings.

This time last year I learned what it feels like to have my heart beating outside of my body.

Today Alex and Kelsey are celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

Looking at the photos and putting together this blog post takes me right back to that transcendent, wonderful, magical night. And just like it was this time last year, my heart is so full of gratitude.

Thank you for letting me share it with you.

Love, Kelly
