i was looking around to see if there was anything i could take a picture of anything that had the slightest bit of color. i think that’s what i am missing most right now… color.
anyway, as we walked back into the house i noticed the leaves on my rose bush.
in the words of my dad…beggars can’t be choosers. so i think this will do just fine.
of winter’s lifeless world each tree now seems a perfect part;
yet each one holds summer’s secret deep down within its heart.

Yes, beauty is where we can find it, that’s for sure. Outdoors doesn’t turn much up for me right now. Our roses have all been cut back. Most everything else is brown stick-like ‘things’. Color. Yes! That’s why I try to keep fresh flowers in the house in winter. And this month’s FOL theme is tonic for us, Kelly!
What a great quote! We are in need of that message today as we prepare for yet another storm making it’s way to us tonight…
This image is simply gorgeous! I love how the rose still has some color. I know, I’m an odd man out…but this is my favorite time of the year. I can get out almost everyday since it’s not near as cold here and snow/ice isn’t covering the ground. I’m also very fortunate to live next to the woods where I can search for color and beauty. Hang in there, Kelly, this too shall pass!
Beautiful. Wonderful photo of roses. They are beautiful in all seasons.
I know so many people are so ready for winter to be over (myself included). We haven’t had much snow thankfully but it’s so COLD and I want to be warm again both inside and outside. Your rose leaves have lovely color. I think mine are pretty dead looking right now.
