yet another monday bedroom update

hello friends. happy monday! how are you? how was your weekend?

all is well in my neck of the woods and i am happy to report that things are moving right along with our bedroom. and it’s a good thing too because i am so sore today after spending the weekend in my bedroom on my hands and knees.

oh dear, i just read that.

no, what i mean is i spent the weekend on the floor painting baseboards and touching up! good grief.

so the thing is, i don’t really have any photos to share because i was painting like a mad woman.  but for what it’s worth, you’ll be happy to know that I am still in love with the green frog tape – it didn’t bleed one bit onto my newly stained wood floor.

i would also like to add that after two consecutive weekends of painting, i know every single lyric to every song currently in rotation on country music radio.

anyway, besides finishing up the painting, i’ve also been doing some SERIOUS deep cleaning.  i’m not kidding…the dust in my house is just disgusting.  so far I have both of the upstairs bathrooms done which doesn’t sound like much I know, but seriously…you should have seen the dust.

and speaking of dust …

{{bad segue alert!!}}

so yesterday, tripp worked on getting some of the furniture back into the bedroom.  let’s just say i now know why they are referred to as dust ‘bunnies’ – i could not believe the proliferation of them on the inside of our chest-of-drawers.  but seeing as how tripp has become a pro at the vacuuming (ahem), i delegated that task to him.  Winking smile   but what’s really great is that means i think tripp and i are going to be able to sleep in our own bed in our own bedroom tonight.

can i get a ‘thank you Jesus!’

really this could not come soon enough, because while we’ve been in the garage apartment, tripp and i have had to make some serious lifestyle adjustments. first and foremost is the issue with our respective TV shows and DVR boxes.

and yes I am completely aware of the fact that this is a first world problem, but you know…part of the secret to being married for 21 years is having two televisions in the house. I’m just sayin’. Winking smile

anyway, for the past month, i have been forced to watch tripp’s lame reality shows that he records on the DVR box downstairs.  but you know, now that i think about it, there’s really not that much difference between Goldrush and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  i mean, i guess with the exception of excess facial hair and botox, at their core they are really just shows about the drama that goes along with an obsession of bright shiny things right?

although i will say that i am totally rooting for parker schnabel.

but don’t even get me started with Finding Bigfoot.  seriously…even i have standards.

the other great thing about moving back into our room is that we will be back in our own bathroom…with two sinks.  which i will tell you is the other secret to our happy marriage. Winking smile

so with that little nugget of wisdom i think i am going to wrap things up tonight.  tripp got the upstairs TV and DVR all hooked up and a new episode of Real Housewives is calling my name.

peace, kelly

We’ve had two t.v.’s in our house since our wedding day. They ARE the glue that holds a marriage together. Also, separate offices. ; )
