Forget all that sappy ‘thankful for family’ stuff…today, I am thankful for sweatpants.
I don’t know why we don’t make turkey more often. Maybe if we did then I wouldn’t feel the need to make such a pig of myself. But, I shouldn’t blame it on the healthy roasted turkey – it’s all the wonderful, rich, fattening dishes that go with the golden, brown, and delicious bird. And let’s not forget the desserts. Heavens no! No savory Thanksgiving meal would be complete without a myriad of sweet treats to send me right over the edge into a tryptophan/blood sugar coma!
So to celebrate the fact that I have two more days to wear loose-fitting clothing before heading back to work, here are, in no particular order, the things I ate this year at Thanksgiving-
- Turkey with gray on top
- Dressing with gravy on top
- Mashed Potatoes with gravy on top
- Gravy (I really love gravy, can you tell?)
- Sweet Potatoes
- Noodles
- Green Beans
- Brussel Sprouts
- Green Salad
- Pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting
I think I need a twelve step program to help me with my gravy addiction.
I hope everyone had plenty to eat this year and has a comfy pair of sweatpants. Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I’m going to take a walk.
Peace, Kelly
