Welcome to Week 44 of my Pinspiration series!
This week’s Pinspiration project is brought to you courtesy of my dear friend Carrie.
I visited my friend Carrie in Houston over the weekend to attend one of her legendary Halloween parties. And since coming home, I’ve determined that when it comes to Pinterest and trying out pins – I am a totally slacker. When it comes to creative party ideas, Carrie is like the energizer bunny. Only instead of Duracell, Carrie runs on Diet Coke. LOL
So on Saturday we spent the day getting the food ready. I was put in charge of making these cute little Mummy Dogs.
Rather than using regular hot dogs, Carrie bought Little Smokies to use instead. They were super easy to put together.
And with the help of my delightful daughter, we were able to crank out a couple of baking sheets full in about an hour.
Look how cute!!
And then there was the matter of dressing up. Earlier in the week Carrie texted me this photo for a costume idea.
I was totally on board because I figured that, Carrie being the uber-creative one of us, would make these fun boards. But alas her week was a crazy as mine last week, so she delegated that task to yours truly.
{Insert panic here.}
I am not artistic. I can take photos and make messes all day long, but I cannot draw to save my life. But Carrie was otherwise occupied with outdoor decorations. So with the help of my delightful daughter, I first made a sketch on paper, then did my best at transferring it to poster boards.
So here’s our final result. Pretty proud if I do say so myself.
Oh and did I tell you what our daughters dressed up as? Are you ready for this….Our girls dressed up as Carrie and me circa 1990. Complete with big hair, red lips, mom jeans, and goofy vests.
Oh dear. Just not even sure what to say.
It was such a fun party and as usual our time went by way to fast. But I have to tell you…there is no one on earth that I would rather make Pinterest recipes or be a nerd with than my dear friend Carrie.
Love, Your Nerdy Friend Kelly
