Around here I am finding my rhythm and easing back into post-holiday life.

I spent a few days taking down all of the Christmas decorations, but without the ‘racing against the clock’ mentality that I often have in the process. My house was not perfectly clean nor put back together on January 1st and it was FINE. Plus giving myself a little more time and freedom meant I had more headspace to play and putz and piddle which is one of my favorite things to do.

I am still enjoying a couple of holiday holdouts though.

My amaryllis is still enjoying its spotlight on the kitchen table, and I left the twinkle lights up around my back door because they make me happy and that’s enough of a reason why.

Around here January is doing its thing and showing off with dramatic light and shadows around the house…

…and in the sky.

Around here I finished my December Daily® album last weekend and did a MAJOR office clean up. I don’t know why I can’t work on my album without creating an absolute disaster in my space. And don’t even get me started about all the random places I’ve been finding sequins around the house.

But man was it a glorious feeling to come into a clean office this past Monday.

Around here January weather can be a bit of a roller coaster ride, but I am taking every opportunity to be outside. Late-afternoon walks are one of the highlights of my day.

Around here I am wholeheartedly rejecting the notion that January is the time of year to set big goals or make a bunch of resolutions. Instead I am prioritizing all things home and rest and comfort.

I hope this blog post gives you the permission to do the same.
Love, Kelly
