When the December Daily® products went on sale a couple of months ago, I thought it would be a fun surprise for Kelsey to get her one of the mini-kits and albums. She’s been working really hard and is at a good place in her life, and I thought she might enjoy this memory-keeping project that documents and celebrates the stories of the holidays.
It was a big hit!
So fast forward to last night when Kelsey came over for our usual Thursday night dinner. She also brought her December Daily album to work on since she needed some help getting her pictures printed. After dinner, we sat at the kitchen table and Kelsey spread out all of her supplies. And all I could think about was how it didn’t seem like eight years ago, when I sat at this same table and wrote this blog post.
At the time, with my empty-nest looming on the horizon, I was sure that the best years of my life were coming to a close. And that the holidays would lose some (if not all) of their magic without my only child at home. That’s why sitting there with my girl last night while she worked on her album…well all I can say is that it felt like a very full-circle kind of moment.
And a very magical one at that.
