Meet Rupert.
Rupert is staying with us for a couple of weeks while is his family is on vacation.
Rupert is an absolutely adorable West Highland Terrier. He is totally lovable and quite possibly the most docile dog I’ve ever been around. Rupert has been a lovely houseguest. He never complains going up and down all the stairs in our house. And he adventurously followed along with us on our recent trip to the lake. Probably because he comes from such a lovely family.
Rupert is gradually becoming accustomed to life with our family. And accustomed to hearing his name in our Okie accent rather than in his family’s lovely British accent. What’s the difference? Well, to an Okie Rupert is pronounced like Roo-purt. However, in his family, Rupert is pronounced Rhoo-pehrt.
It’s been an adjustment, but we’re all getting used to each other. Riley is pretty indifferent – he’s been through all this new dog in house business before.
Daisy has had a harder time. I think she feels that her status as the cutest dog is being compromised.
As much as Rupert is enjoying his stay with us, I think he misses his family.
Hang in there buddy.
Peace, Kelly
