OK. I promised myself that wasn’t complain about the heat anymore this summer. It is the end of July (omg seriously, can you believe how fast this month has gone by??), but come on! This is getting unbearable.
And what I mean by unbearable is that my face looks like an oil-slick and there’s only so cooling effect you can reasonably expect from a daily sprinkle dousing of baby powder.
What I need to be doing is putting together my OLW blog post for in the morning, but all I can think about right now is that I really should go floss my teeth. You see I had a close call with a cavity this morning at the dentist. Random fact alert – I’ve never had a cavity and for a perfectionist, overachiever such as myself this is unthinkable. But all is well with my posterior whatever (crisis averted!) and I left the dentist with a stern warming and some super fuzzy floss.
Warning. I think this might actually go down in history as my most random blog post ever.
There was a bright spot in my day though – school supply shopping with my delightful daughter! It’s our thing. An annual tradition. I wonder if when she’s 40 she’ll still call me to take her school supply shopping. I hope so.
And as an extra-special bonding moment in the pen section of Office Depot, Kelsey and I discovered that we both prefer ballpoint pen with caps because we prefer to write with a pen whose cap has been placed on the end. Much better balance and hand feel!
This poor child…so her mother’s daughter. LOL
And speaking of balance…
Bad segue alert!!
Have you been watching the Olympics? It’s been on pretty much non-stop at our house and no I don’t feel the least bit guilty. I love the Olympics! Especially gymnastics. I totally remember as a little girl watching Nadia Comanche on the balance beam and being completely blow away by her focus and determination. Too bad our men’s team wasn’t as focused last night – so hard to watch a team come unraveled like that.
You know, I think gymnastics is just hard to watch anyway. My gosh they are so high in the air and if that wasn’t scary enough, there is usually some type of hard surface on which they can bash their heads on the way down! Did you see the parents of Aly Raisman watching their daughter during the team qualifications? I think it’s pretty indicative of what a gymnast’s parents go through on a regular basis. It’s kinda funny, but still…I can’t imagine.
Wish I knew how to embed a video.
The only bad thing about Olympics being on is that I’m getting behind on my Real Housewives and Dallas. Curious about how that RV trip with the Manzos, etal went.
OK. I think that’s about as much randomness as I can take for one night. Plus gymnastics is coming on. Team USA!!
Peace, Kelly

OMG don’t get me started on the heat! It’s unbearable.
Reading what you wrote about office supplies is so funny. I am the same way. I just love all those school supply aisles!

I’m so looking forward to cooler weather that I have this huge list of things to do “when it gets cool!!” Love your random post today! You made me smile when you mentioned school supplies! I love to walk down the aisles and check everything out, and to this day I just have to buy something new!! Keep cool!
