One afternoon last week, I spied this beautiful Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in the lantana patch and spent a few minutes following it around with my camera.
It wasn’t until I saw the photos on my computer that I realized it was missing a chunk of its hindwings. Which made it even more beautiful and more special.
I’m guessing from the way the edges look that it was in a close call with a bird or other predator. And yet here it is, still going. Still sharing its beauty and magic with the world.
I know a few people like that. I bet you do too. So this post dedicated to all of the special people in our lives who continue to fly with their broken wings and bring so much happiness and beauty to the world.
We are grateful for your inspiration and example of resilience.
Love, Kelly
