Welcome to the One Little Word May Blog Hop. If you have arrived here my friend Donna at http://holimess.blogspot.com/, then you are in exactly the right place. (If you get a little lost there is a list of all the blog participants at the bottom.)
I hope you have enjoyed hearing how the other ladies have been experiencing their words this past month. I think getting to know the other gals has been one of the best (if unexpected) parts of this whole experience.
April has been a big month for me, full of a lot of reflection of the past year. And not just because it was more or less our “assignment” this month. It’s just that last year was full of so much chaos and change, fear and anxiety. And to feel so at peace this year…well it’s a welcome relief.
One of the things I’ve discovered this month is that my word TRY is really so much bigger than I originally intended. It’s not just about trying new things like recipes and crafts. Really my word is so much more about learning to live authentically. But old habits (doubt, fear, and comparison just to name a few) sometimes die hard. And that’s exactly where I see this journey helping the most.
So here are my pages for this month. It only took about 247 tries to get a decent self-portrait.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Your next stop on the blog hop will be Carolina at www.micinnamons-en.blogspot.com.
Peace, Kelly

What an awesome self-portrait. Love it! And, thank you for giving me hope! My oldest is going to college in August (early, as a high schooler part of a special program) and I’m so anxious. Nice to hear that you were, too, but that it turned out well. See you next month!
Great self-portrait! I love how you cropped/zoomed/whatever’ed it. 🙂
Comparison is such a tricky thing to deal with. I love the quote you used in the other post. 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing.
I hope you have a great summer with your youngster home from college. Lovely self-portrait.
Awesome honest journaling. Enjoy the summer! (But don’t be surprised if you find yourself actually ready for the college one to head back to school in August!).
Hi Kelly,
I love the composition (crop) of your picture. It looks wonderful. College does go so fast. It seems we just waved goodbye and they come home again. My son is graduating on Saturday from Utica. We are all so excited. My still life for Project 52 might be a graduation cap! See you soon.
Donna
Decent? No. Gorgeous! Sparkling! Thanks so much for sharing.
I’m glad you continued for the other 273 (and wouldn’t that make an interesting collage?!) and like the way you’ve cropped this self portrait. Also really like that last line in your letter ‘You can do this!’ is something we tell others and don’t tell ourselves enough.
Stunning self portrait!! You did a great job. Thanks for sharing your take on this months prompt.
great self-portrait…the best ones always take longer to capture!
I’m learning that what I thought I was going to cultivate this year isn’t holding up! There are deeper things for me to be doing and I need to be willing! Glad this OLW is a year long journey!!
Love your photo and the journal!!!. Thanks for share it!!!
great self portrait and love your blog (i think i tell you this every month!) but i believe we can’t give enough compliments!
