well that’s just peachy

this.

this makes summertime in oklahoma worth it.  the heat, the humidity, the smelly running clothes, the frizzy hair…what oklahoma summer lacks in comfort, it more than makes up for in sweet and juicy peaches.

lucky for us, the best peaches in the world (in my humble opinion) happen to grow just a hop, skip, and a jump away.  so this past friday i went and picked up my mom.  then the two of us made the short trip to porter, oklahoma and livesay orchards to get some for ourselves.

here is where i would like to share with you the pictures that i took of the rows and rows of glorious peaches on display.  but sadly, i accidentally deleted them off of my SD card before i downloaded them.  insert face-palm here.  thank goodness for my iphone.

after our trip to the orchard, mom and i stopped at a delightfully quaint little cafe for lunch.  mom had the club sandwich and i had their special chicken waldorf salad sandwich…both of which were served on think homemade bread.

yes…i deleted those pictures as well.  sigh…

at any rate, it was a such a lovely afternoon spent with my mom.

and now my whole kitchen smells like peach heaven.

i’ve lost count how many i’ve eaten.

if you have time this weekend and live anywhere near eastern oklahoma, the porter peach festival is this weekend.  that way you can get a bushel of heaven for yourself!

a word to the wise though…be sure to bring a wet wipe to clean the sticky, sweet peach juice off your chin.

not that i know from personal experience or anything.  Winking smile

Same in Texas! Peaches have been bad the past couple years, but are super yummy this year. A friend shared some from her aunt’s trees over the weekend and I’ve made myself sick eating so many. Ugh – totally worth it!!! <3

Yum!!! We usually have delicious peaches here in NJ in time for daughter’s birthday on July 9th and this year, because of our crazy winter!, the local peaches won’t be ripe until the beginning of August. So jealous of your yumminess!!

I had such a wonderful time traipsing around the country in Oklahoma with my lovely daughter! I am so glad I live near her again. She’s so much fun to hang out with and we have had some great talks about life and love and God. I am soooo verrrrry blessed.

Mmmm…good! We’ve been eating a lot of peaches for the last few days as well. Little Miss C has one every morning with her breakfast. Yum! And … yes … thank goodness for your iPhone!

Nothing better than a ripe juicy peach in summer! Not yet peach season here yet, but soon! That beautiful big bowl of peaches wouldn’t last long in our house.
