what my grandmother would have told me about painting

2013 02 06_8911 copy

when a task is first begun

never leave it ‘til it’s done.

be the labor great or small,

do it well or not at all.

my grandmother’s words echoing in my head while touching up the approximately 847 (give or take) staircase spindles in the upstairs landing.  made me smile.  gave me the warm fuzzies.

so of course i took a photo.

peace, kelly

Was she a perfectionist like me? Because I’ve learned that sometimes it’s ok to take a break. 🙂

Oh that perfectionist thing would work diligently to keep me from even starting that project out of fear that I would take a break and never resume!

I’m sweating just thinking of all those spindles…yes…take a break, often, for coffee or chocolate!

That’s one tedious job! You definitely need to take breaks! If I had to get on the floor and paint that many spindles, I’d never be able to get up again!!
