Welcome to Week 22 of my Pinspiration series!
There are a few things in life that I could say, in my humble opinion and with some modicum of confidence, that I am pretty good at. For instance,
- I am a good cupcake maker
- I am a good gardener
- I am a decent scrapbooker
- I am an excellent mess-maker
A fashionista, however, I am not. I am lucky however to have wonderful friends like my BFF Suzanne to help me in that department. If she ever decides to leave her uber-successful career as a corporate trainer, she could so totally be a stylist/life coach. The only problem is that my BFF Suz lives a thousand miles away and I can’t go to her every time I need fashion advice.
That’s where Pinterest has become a lifesaver!
This board is called ‘I would totally wear this’ and I have made several outfits using these Polyvore collages that I see on Pinterest. (Including the oh-so-not-fun experience of buying skinny jeans and tall brown boots.)
I haven’t used Polyvore myself, but I think what you can do is create an account then put outfits together using their links to various clothing outlets. You can also “follow” people (kinda like Pinterest) who have styles that you like. It’s pretty cool.
Anyway, a few months ago I came across this style collage.

I adore that coral-pink color and I love the playful addition of the white shorts and denim jacket. And I also love how the turquoise necklace added a colorful pop.
So I did my best to recreate this outfit with a little more age appropriate pieces (momma is too old to wear white short-shorts and lacey tank tops). Thanks to my favorite clothing store of all time, LOFT, I managed to put together a fun little outfit for today’s cooler weather. Plus I added a fun turquoise necklace that I got at Charming Charlie’s while visiting my other BFF Carrie over spring break.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for LOFT, I would have nothing to wear!
I’d love to know if you have created any outfits from your Pinterest style boards, so feel free to leave a link to your blog in my comments.
Have a great weekend everyone! Kelly

Dear Kelly,
That looks great. I love the colors. I really like the way you took the idea and made it for you. I usually think too young, or I couldn’t possibly wear that shirt. or…well yu get the idea. Now I will look at it differently. Love it.
