if it is may, then that can only mean one thing.
i think i’ve already said this five times this year…but i think peonies might be in my list of top five favorite flowers of all time. i look forward to their bodacious blooms from the time i see their tightly wrapped buds crawling with ants.
and then within a couple of weeks…bam!
an explosion of color…
with floppy blooms the size of dinner plates.
and layers and layers of silky petals.
don’t even get me started on their fragrance…i wish i had a way to share that with you because it is utterly divine.
my peonies have kind of taken a beating from the wind this year. and even though i have them tied up a bit, i still find a few broken stems.
and well…i guess that’s not exactly a bad thing i suppose.
