hi friends! happy monday!
no this isn’t a joke…it’s a blog post on a monday morning. and no, normally monday mornings for me don’t usually involve happy or exclamation points. but this particular monday morning i am enjoying some time at home thanks to a little pto.
dear God…thank you for paid time off.
so this week is spring break and in addition to enjoying some time off, i am also enjoying some quality time with my girl. since she got home thursday afternoon i have taken approximately 467 photos of her.
because i’m a MWAC and that’s what i do.
but i’m not the only one who’s happy to see her.
and tripp would like for me to tell you that he happy to have kelsey home because that means we once again have snacks in the house. #emptynesterprobs
well so in other news, we spent the better part of the weekend doing a little spring cleaning outside. i got to spend some quality time with the powerwasher thanks to that “cedar waxwing event” last weekend.
pardon my air-quote…i tend to write my blog posts as if we were talking in person and i would have used air-quotes while referring to “the incident” then too.
and i guess i should add here that there was not in fact any bird poop in this area, but if once i get started powerwashing, it’s hard for me to stop. in fact, i rank powerwashing right up there with vacuuming and blow-drying my hair for its problem-solving abilities. and just as an idea… i think that we should give each one of our senators and representatives a powerwasher and dirty patio and i bet in no time they’d be able to “clean-up” washington and figure out a way to balance the budget. i’m just sayin.
oh and speaking of hair…
{{bad segue alert!!}}
i got my haircut last friday! totally loving my sassy new bob. just needed a change you know?
oh…and perhaps you noticed in the photo above that i am wearing shorts. saturday was so beautiful! so warm and sunny. well in true oklahoma form, by sunday it was drizzling and cold. typical. #okieprobs
so let’s see…what else can i tell you. oh! right…i made green pancakes yesterday.
oh and also, kelsey and i went shopping on friday and i got this adorable little journal.
seriously…i cannot be trusted with journals and notebooks. but how could i not pass up this one. pretty much sums up my life right now. and that’s a good thing.
so that’s it for me. what about you?? i would love to hear about your weekend or your family. or if spring has sprung in your neck of the woods. or if you have a problem with abusing “air-quote” or #hashtags.
love, kelly

Fun, fun post Kelly. I am the same about Power Washers…once I get started there is no stopping me. Feel the same way about Leaf Blowers…what is it? Enjoy your time (paid) off with your daughter and have a great week!!

Waiting on a snow storm for tomorrow (which I pronounce like tamarra, insert air quotes). Love that haircut, right on, great one. So happy you girl is home. And I have serious power washer thing envy. We can’t use one because Fishboy tells me it would be too hard on the well (we have a dug well). It must be so danged FUN and whoooosh, that stuff just gets clean. I could do my foot callus areas. Really. I have to visit you.
oxoxo Pam

I LOVE your haircut AND your new journal. I’m totally a sucker for those too! I’m about to buy a power washer to clean the front porch and my daughter’s playscape. I see it as a form of meditation. It’s so soothing so see progress right before your eyes!

Lovely photos of Kelsey! She looks so natural in front of the camera! I love the journal, cool find! I have so many notebooks and journals and sadly they stay pretty blank. I just can’t stop buying them!!
