this week

hello my friends!  happy friday!  how are you?

all is well here…. it’s been a good week.  i started my new job on tuesday.  and every single morning as i walk into my new office, i breathe in a huge sigh of relief.  it’s like nothing has really changed – it’s the same basic job, same computer software – except except everything has changed.  and that is a good thing.

dear kelly…maybe you should read your own blog once in a while.

anyway, besides my new job, it was also a good week because i met my girlfriends for dinner wednesday night.

yes to honey vodka and lavender.  yes to laughter.  yes to friends who love you for who you are…even when you say things that sounds like they were lifted from a self-help book.

{insert warm fuzzies here}

so let’s see…what else can i tell you…

oh right, so last night, tripp got home from work and he hollers from the back door, ‘hey babe!  bring your camera!  you’re gonna want to see this!’.  and so i go downstairs with my camera see the coolest looking green bug.

i had no idea what this critter was so i looked it up…it’s a katydid!  apparently they make a unique chirping noise.  which explains the weird sounding bird i though i heard the other night.

i love when tripp does that…he did it on monday too when he saw this beautiful swallowtail butterfly in the backyard.

reason number 1,483 why i love tripp.  and late summer.

and so that brings me up to today.  which has been a fairly productive day.  a good run this morning, followed by a trip to target.

i also made a trip to the grocery store….try not to be jealous.

i sort of thought about cleaning house a little, but decided instead to go and see my mom.  we talked about paint colors and christmas lists.  and i helped her clean up her sewing room a little.  held her hand while she cleaned out her fabric scrap drawers.

that holding on thing…yeah…i get that from my mom…you should see my paper scrap drawers. Smile

anyway,  i also made her go to the goodwill store to see if i could find a cute lamp for my new desk at work.  plus, i also scored a few cuttings off of her ginormous airplane plant that i’m going to pot for my new desk at work.

oh. and on the way home, i may have pulled into a walgreens parking lot to take a picture of the sunflowers growing along a fence line.

#obsessed

and so now you’re pretty much up to date with the excitement around here.  as usual…using the term ‘excitement’ pretty loosely.  but i’m totally ok with that.  i’m totally ok with ordinary days and cool green bugs and pretty late summer light.

this week…it’s been a good one.  feeling enormously grateful for it.

love, kelly
