So this month’s assignment for my One Little Word class was to create a vision board. Something I’ve heard of, just never actually taken the time to do. Basically it involves cutting out images and modpodging them to a canvas. The key is not to think too much about looking for images that relate specifically to my word. Just to choose images that speak to me…for whatever reason. Doesn’t matter why.
Well, as I was going through some of my most recent magazine and catalogs, I found that I was drawn to images of spring blooms and happy colors. I’m sure that alot of that had to do with this time of year – would probably be choosing different sorts of images if I doing it in say mid-July. And at the same I also found little snippets of text that spoke to me as well.
Next came the fun part…arranging it on my board. And I just messed around with it until it looked right to me. The nice thing is, with a project like this there is no right or wrong.
At first I didn’t really get the whole idea of it. Especially since I try to live mindfully and really stay connected and plugged into my life. But it kinda made more sense when I read this quote that Ali shared:
The board itself doesn’t impact reality; what changes your life is the process of creating the images—combinations of objects and events that will stick in your subconscious mind and steer your choices toward making the vision real. ~Martha Beck
What’s cool is that for the past couple of days, every time I have ventured out in the backyard I noticed little signs of life springing up all around me.
And some much needed color starting to re-enter the world.
Isn’t that neat???
I don’t know…it’s the silliest thing, but it’s just made me all sorts of happy. So for that I would just like to say thank you February. Thank you for love. Thank you for light and color. And most of all…thank you for the promise of spring.
Love, Kelly

Your vision board is wonderful…fresh, colorful, light, but what’s even better is that it’s speaking to you. Cool beans! Is this a physical board or one online?
