As I type this blog post I am wearing two layers of clothes and my warmest fuzzy slippers. Our outdoor thermometer currently shows 29 degrees, and I’m currently rethinking our decision not to turn on the furnace last night.
Apparently, remnants of the Super Typhoon Nuri caused a buckle in the jet stream and is sending some arctic air into the central plains states. Besides causing me to break out my fuzzy slippers, this arctic blast also means the end of the road for my zinnias.
Zinnias are a constant source of delight and happiness for me during the summer months, not to mention a source of nourishment for the butterflies. So today I thought I would share some of my favorite photos of these delightful blooms from this past growing season.
I am so grateful the beauty and joy that zinnias bring to my life and my garden. Thank you for letting me share them with you.
Love, Kelly
P.S. If you would like to grow these zinnias in your own garden (which I highly recommend!), I ordered my seeds from Floret Flower.
